How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries
– Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberries Recipe Welcome back to In the Kitchen with Matt,
I am your host Matt Taylor. Today I am going to show you how to make chocolate
covered strawberries, mmm yummy. Chocolate covered strawberries are really
easy to do, they are perfect for Valentine’s Day, which is tomorrow, or any occasion really,
if I can make them, you can make them, let’s get started. All right first what we want to do is we want
to take some strawberries, we want to wash and dry them completely, it is really important
that they are completely dry. And then we need some chocolate, I have some
white chocolate, you can use the white chocolate chips or a white chocolate bar like this one,
a dark chocolate, this is a Ghirardelli brand, 72 percent dark cocoa, oh yeah really good,
and then milk chocolate, which is my favorite, this is just a normal Hershey’s bar. Now I have some toppings here, I have some
nuts, I got some coconut, I got some semi-sweet, little chocolate chips. First lets go ahead and melt our chocolate,
I am going to melt these in the microwave on bursts of 30 seconds, 30 seconds stir,
30 seconds stir, and then 10 seconds stir until they are completely melted. Now what we are going to do is we are going
to take a strawberry, and what we do is we grab the top, and just fold it up, and just
go ahead and dip it in. Just let it drizzle a little bit, then go
ahead and set it down on a parchment paper lined sheet, or I have a artisan mat here
which is silicon, and just go ahead and push it forward a little bit. All right and there you go. And now if you don’t want, the flat side,
then what we will do is we will take a piece of Styrofoam, which is right here, and you
will take your strawberry, and a toothpick and go ahead and stick it in the middle of
the strawberry, and then reach in here and fold back the leaves and then just go ahead
and dip it in, you can go as high as you want with these, and then just go ahead and place
it like that. So you don’t have any flat sides. What you can do also is you can go ahead and
coat it, so what you do is you dip it, come in here to like the nuts, and then just go
ahead and put it down like that. Now this one that I am going to make is like
the Tuxedo kind, so with the Tuxedo, all you need to do is get the front side of it dipped. Then we want to set this aside and let the
chocolate set up a little bit, and now what we want to do, is we want to take a little
piping bag, this is just the little throw away kind, or you can use a plastic bag, I
am going to fold it over like this, and just add some of this white chocolate, okay and
I am just going to push the chocolate down and then we are going to just snip off the
tip, and now you can take it, and just drizzle across your strawberry, and then on these
ones, just go ahead and go on the top, drizzle it. Now back to our Tuxedo one, we are going to
go ahead and take it, and just go to the side, okay, turn it over and go to the other side,
let the excess come off, push it back down, pretty cool, and then we want to put on our
dots, I am just going to use a toothpick and dip it in our chocolate, pretty cool a little
tuxedo. All right once you are done dipping and decorating,
go ahead and pop our chocolate covered strawberries in the refrigerator and let them set completely
for about 20 to 30 minutes. All right our chocolate covered strawberries
are done, they turned out fantastic, really easy to make, go out there and make your own,
